Range: $86,000- $90,120

Position Summary Guidelines:

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks to fill a Visiting Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, beginning August 1, 2023. The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in Civil Engineering or related discipline with the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate structural engineering courses. Review of applications will begin immediate and continue until the position is filled. Screening interviews will be conducted via teleconferencing. The selected candidate is expected to contribute towards advancing the mission and vision of both the department and the Coulter School of Engineering. The standard teaching load for this position is three courses per semester with no more than two new preparations per semester.

Remote Workdays: This is a full time, on Campus, position with zero remote workdays.

Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities involve teaching up to 3 courses per semester, from among: steel design, reinforced concrete design, timber design, matrix structural analysis, structural analysis, statics, strength of materials. and courses in their own area of expertise.

Education:

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related discipline (ABD with
completion by August 1, 2023, will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience at the university level of
courses in steel design, reinforced concrete design, timber design, matrix structural
analysis, structural analysis, and/or strength of materials.
